The Importance of Stem Cell Therapy

What are stem cells and how can they help heal your body? Stem cells are powerful facilitators that exist in millions during youth and then decline as we age. Stem cells produce the ability for the body to heal more quickly and completely. They mature to fulfill the needs of the body and continually divide to self-regenerate into muscle, skin tendons, cartilage, and even nerve cells. Remember how quickly you healed after a scrape or sports injury as a child versus how quickly you heal now after a little sprain? It’s not so fast now is it? The abundance of stem cells you had allowed you to heal quickly. We at R&R Health have the capability to intervene and expedite the way your body heals through Stem Cell Therapy.  Our stem cells will give your body the boost and reboot you need to accelerate the healing process already put in place by your own body.

Top reasons for stem cell therapy

Knee pain

Low back pain

Neck pain

Foot/Ankle pain

Shoulder pain

Degenerative joint disease

Cartilage/tissue damage to joints

Please Note:
Stem cells work with your body’s natural pathways to heal by reducing inflammation, repairing the issue and regenerating what was damaged. If you feel that you still need that joint replacement after your Stem Cell Therapy, this will not hinder you. If some pain is still experienced, taking pain medications are fine to resume (some immediately after the injection). Stem cells are injected directly or in close proximity of the problem area. The IV will facilitate the stem cells by pushing them through with approximately 20 mL of normal saline. Stem cells will travel to the necessary sites through the circulatory system. Stem cells do not contain any DNA or blood; typing and crossing is not necessary. Your body determines where the stem cells go always directing to the location of most desperate need of repairing and regenerating. Stem cells do NOT cure any diseases or conditions! Research is still being conducted by top universities and scientists to determine the role of stem cells in the repair and regeneration of musculoskeletal tissues and nerves.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get stem cells?

Stem cell therapy begins with a consultation which includes a physical exam, review of medical history and medication review. We will then map out a plan for each upcoming session and process.

Leading up to the day of stem cells

Drink plenty of water. Hold alcoholic beverages at least 2 days prior to injection day. Stop all Aspirin, NSAIDS (Advil, Motrin, Naproxen, Aleve, etc., 5 days prior to injection day) fish oil and Vitamin E supplements. There will be an extensive medication review at the consultation. You will be given a list of the medications you need to stop prior to injection day. Being off these medications will promote inflammation, which is exactly what the stem cells need to thrive, regenerate, and repair. Depending on medical history, some people will have to consult with their PCP or specialist before stopping certain medications.

How long does the IV infusion/injection process take?

On average, an IV infusion/injection process takes 10 – 15 minutes. Some may take longer depending on each person’s treatment.

How much down time is involved?

Relatively, there is no down time. However, we do recommend that you partake in low activity and rest for at least 2 weeks after the injection(s)/infusion (no heavy lifting or strenuous workouts). You may resume your regular exercise regimen in 1 month.

How long before I see results?

While there are no guarantees, many patients see immediate improvements as others take 4-8 weeks. Some patients may take up to 3 – 6 months.

How long will the stem cells regenerate?

The stem cells will divide every 28 hours for 65 cycles, which is a 90 day period.

How safe is this?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approves the stem cell labs and regulates them to ensure the safety and efficacy of the cells as they would with any other medications or blood products.

How can I get the best results?

For optimized results, follow the post-procedure instructions received after your first stem cell therapy session. Additionally, rest, a healthy diet, plenty of fluids and avoidance of anti-inflammatory medications/ supplements will aid in stem cell success. Also, if possible, certain cholesterol medications should be held for a week after you receive stem cells.

How long before I need another dose?

Doses will be determined based on the severity of the inflammation or injury. Additional injections/infusions can be received as soon as 3 months after your initial treatment.

How successful is the stem cell therapy?

Stem Cell Therapy has an 85-95% success rate with benefits varying from client to client.

How much do stem cells cost and does insurance cover it?

Insurance does not currently cover stem cell therapy. Pricing is structured based upon amount and bundle discounts.

How can I get stem cells if I cannot pay cash?

Care Credit will be available soon.
